Little evidence guides the management of pediatric unprovoked venous thromboembolism (VTE). Hilary Whitworth, M.D., discusses the analysis of a single-center retrospective study of children with unprovoked VTE. Various factors affecting the risk of recurrence were analyzed. In summary, there is a high rate of recurrent VTE in children with unprovoked VTE.
